About The Club

The Treasure Valley Hunting Retriever Club (TVHRC) was formed in 2001 to provide an organization for dog owners interested in training their dogs to become better hunting and hunt test companions. The club is dedicated to assisting Treasure Valley area residents develop well-trained hunting retrieves. TVHRC is also dedicated to helping local dog owners develop the knowledge and skills necessary to train a competent hunting retriever. We utilize public and private land to conduct our training sessions, picnic tests, and hunt tests.

TVHRC is associated with the North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA) and the American Kennel Club (AKC). Both of these organizations are committed to developing and testing hunting retrievers.

TVHRC goals include:

  • Education of our membership about the NAHRA & AKC Hunt Test programs.
  • Utilization of training seminars and picnic tests as a means of teaching individuals how to train dogs as hunting retrievers.
  • Education of the public about the important role trained retrievers play in the conservation of game.
  • Sharing information and resources with our membership and others.
